Does Your Business Need a Website?

If you are considering a website for your business, we want to help!  Here are the top five reasons your business needs a website!

1. Your competition has websites: It is important to remember that you are competing with other companies who may be offering the same services as you, who are maintaining websites for business and marketing purposes.

2. The key to any business is marketing: A professional website gives you an easily accessed, always-on location place for providing information about services, pricing, and policies, and showcasing your business.  It is also a place to give information about the small business owner and how your service can be of benefit to your clients' lives or businesses. A website is the only form of advertising that works for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When you buy an ad in a newspaper, it eventually comes to an end.  A website is always there for your customers.

3. Two Words Can Say Everything: A website is the most in-depth information that you can give the public, usually in a word or two.  By promoting your website, on the front door (when you are closed), on your business cards, on the telephone to someone looking for your location, in your radio advertisements, on your yellow pages ad, everywhere - you can "tell" everything about your operation with that one simple word: MyBusiness.com.

4. A Different Word of Mouth: Some business owners say, "Most of our business comes from word of mouth".  The New Word of Mouth is email and the internet. If people can look at their receipt, their bag, your business card, and see your website address they can send an email to 35 of their friends at once and say, "I just love the service at this business" and point to your website. This is the Word of Mouth that goes much further than you could buy.

5. They're Inexpensive and Almost Risk Free: The above benefits are great, and in the past they could have been expensive.  But while most other advertising mediums have increased in price over the past decade, website development and hosting have decreased greatly.  For a few hundred dollars a year, you can obtain all the benefits above.  There is essentially "no risk." You can immensely improve your business with a small investment in a website!

November's Question to the Editor!

Why is customer service so important?

Customer service is so important today due to the changing nature of the market.  There is significantly more competition in the marketplace, which has given the customer more choice.  Customers make their purchase decisions on price, quality and availability, but also on the service they get.  Customer service is about meeting the expectations of your customers.  Exceptional service that they can't get somewhere else is what will keep your customers coming back.

Don't forget to send in your questions to info@brownandgold.com!
